We're the only building society to share our profits directly with youBritannia's unique Membership reward is just one example of how we are building a fairer society. Each year we reward our members for their loyalty with a share of the profits, subject to scheme rules. We can do this because we answer to our members only - we don't have external shareholders demanding a cut. Over the last 12 years we've shared more than £500 million with our members.
Enjoy a reward of up to £500 a year...When you take out a mortgage or open a qualifying savings account with us, you're more than a customer, you're a member, and therefore become eligible to earn our unique Membership Reward. This is just one of the great benefits of being with Britannia because every year a share of our profits goes straight to our members. Once you've been a member for two years*, you'll start to earn reward points on every qualifying Britannia product you have. So if you became a member of the Society in 2006, you'll receive your first bonus payment in 2009. The table below shows this.
The longer you're a member the better it getsAfter 5 years of membership we'll increase your reward by 50% and after 10 years we'll double it. The best thing is whenever you take out new Britannia products, after being a member for over 5 years or 10 years, you'll earn the higher level of rewards on those products too. Capping limits and specific criteria apply to some product types; you can find more out about these in How The Points Add Up section.
Increase your annual rewardThe more point earning products you have, the bigger the reward you receive. After all, a greater commitment deserves a bigger reward. Points are awarded based on the type of products you hold with us and the amount of money you borrow from us or save with us. Britannia products currently available that will earn you points are:
For savings accounts or residential mortgages, points are based on the combined total of your accounts. For joint accounts, the cash reward will be split evenly between each account holder provided each has been a qualifying member through the reward period.
