Conveyancing needn't cost an arm and a leg. Keep the cost down with a fixed fee of £180 excluding disbursements.

Britannia can arrange a conveyancing service at a fixed cost of £180 to avoid the stress of a large bill. All you need to pay in addition to this are any additional fees, known as disbursements. An example of these would be search fees, Land Registry fees and bank transfer fees.

Some of our mortgages include a free conveyancing service for remortgage customers - including compulsory disbursements. If you choose to use your own solicitor, you will be liable for the full cost.

If you have taken advantage of the free conveyancing service and then are not able to proceed with your mortgage application, the Society will be entitled to recover from you any costs that have been incurred as a result of your application, for example, solicitors' fees.

When you're applying for your mortgage online, towards the end of the application you'll be asked to provide details of your solicitor. In order to take advantage of our fixed fee conveyancing service, simply check the box under the 'Your Solicitor' heading to confirm this.

Please note that the specialist solicitors will act for Britannia only in dealing with the legal aspects of your remortgage. Although they will try to deal with any practical queries you may raise, they will not be able to give you legal, financial or tax advice on your remortgage, you should consult your own legal or financial advisor.

Please also note that the amount for disbursements and additional fees varies between England, Scotland, Wales and N. Ireland. You may wish to obtain an estimate before proceeding.
