Keith Cameron joins Britannia board

Britannia Building Society has appointed Keith Cameron to its board as a non-executive director with effect from 1 August 2007.

Mr Cameron, 60, is the Human Resources Director for Marks and Spencer Plc, before which he was a director of Arcadia Group plc. Previously he has been HR Director of The Burton Group, Storehouse, Currys and Levi Strauss.

As a non-executive he is the independent director of Barclays Bank Pension Fund, a non-executive director of Work plc and of social services provider, TACT Ltd.

Britannia chairman Ian Adam commented “With his strong experience in human resources and retail, Keith is a great addition to Britannia's team. I am delighted to have attracted someone of his high calibre and vast experience.

"Britannia's board is responsible for looking after £35 billion of our members' money so it is vital that we have people with a range of skills and expertise to lead and shape our business. We must also ensure that we have continuity and succession plans in place to ensure that we can continue to deliver leadership for our three million members in the future."

Mr Cameron said; " I am looking forward to utilising my experience of improving customer experience in the retail world to good effect in helping Britannia to look after its members."
