Home Buying Guide

Our Home Buying Guide can help take the stress out of buying your home

Whether buying your first home or moving house, there are a lot of things to arrange, including viewing properties, choosing a mortgage, legal work, and valuations. Therefore, this can be one of the most stressful times in your life. This guide will hopefully help you plan more easily and steer clear of any mistakes. It includes expert advice on every stage of the house buying process.

Firstly you need to establish how much you can afford, then you can start looking for a property. We'll show you some house hunting tips on finding a property.

When you have found the house you want to purchase, you'll need to think about which mortgage is right for you, as well as deciding how you will make your application either online, over the phone or in one of our branches.

Finally we explain about valuations, solicitors charges (conveyancing), exchanging contracts, completion and moving into your new home in what happens after I apply.

Download our Step by step guide to buying a house so you can keep track of where you are in the buying process.

To view the downloads in the Home Buying Guide, you will need Adobe Acrobat version 4.0 or above. You can download it free from Adobe.
