Child Trust Fund

Child Trust Fund is a long term plan where eligible children born on or after 1st September 2002 will receive a voucher from the Government worth £250. It encourages parents and children to develop savings habits and teaches children the value of saving.

There are two types of Child Trust Fund:

• Stakeholder - a share based account
• Non-Stakeholder - this may be either a cash deposit account or share based.

At Britannia, we offer the following types:

• Stakeholder Child Trust Fund - this product is made available through our relationship with AXA Sun Life Services plc and it is provided by The Children's Mutual. It is called Baby Bond^®.
• Cash Child Trust Fund - this is a non-stakeholder product provided by Britannia.

You can open a Child Trust Fund account for your child once the voucher has been received from the Government.

FirstSaver

Additionally, we have our FirstSaver Account, which can be opened with just £1 and offers a very attractive interest rate. This is available to all children under the age of 18 and there's instant access to their money whenever it's needed, making it useful as a shorter term savings account and also a good place to keep pocket money safe!
