Life And Critical Illness Protection

You've worked hard to get where you are so why risk losing your home because of death or critical illness.

Through our relationship with AXA Sun Life we can offer a range of cover to help you protect your mortgage against life’s unexpected events. The AXA Protection Account can include life, critical illness or life and critical illness cover.

The cover is designed to provide protection and so has no cash in value.

If this product is used to help protect a mortgage then please note the level of cover may not match the outstanding mortgage amount. Acceptance is subject to underwriting and general and specific exclusions apply.

Life Cover

By choosing Life Cover, you can help protect your dependents after you die by providing a lump sum that could be used to help repay your outstanding mortgage debt.

Although money can’t replace someone, it can help weather the financial storm that an unexpected death can create. By helping to pay off your mortgage, your dependents won’t have to worry about future payments.

Critical Illness Cover

If you are diagnosed with a specified critical illness, then Critical Illness Cover pays a lump sum - which is normally tax-free. The conditions covered do have definitions and certain exclusions which apply. If you make a claim for critical illness, a lump sum is paid and your cover ends.

The money could give you a substantial financial boost when you need it most. For example, help pay off a mortgage or make changes to your home that are required because of suffering a critical illness such as installing a stair-lift or modifying your bathroom. It could also help you pay for the best treatment when you need it.

Life or Earlier Critical Illness Cover

You can also choose Life or Earlier Critical Illness Cover. This is Life Cover with Critical Illness Cover included. You are then covered for whatever happens first – the diagnosis of a critical illness, terminal illness or your death. In the event of a claim for critical illness, a lump sum would be paid and the policy would come to an end.

An optional Life Cover Buy Back may be chosen for this cover, allowing Life Cover to be reinstated 12 months after a critical illness claim.
