Here at Britannia, we don't have any external shareholders to answer to because our Society is owned by you, its members.

Our Annual General Meeting was held at Britannia Stadium, Stoke-on-Trent on 23 April 2008 and as owners of the business members had their say in how the Society is run. The matters discussed at the AGM were:

• the Society's report on performance 2007
• the directors for election
• our policy on directors' remuneration

Your vote makes a real difference

Thank you to everyone who voted this year, by voting you have also help raise money for Alzheimer's Society the UK's leading care and research charity for people with dementia and those who care for them. This year we have donated more than £43,500 on your behalf.

We also asked for your views on how we communicate changes to the interest rates on your savings accounts.

What did you think of this year's pack?

Following extensive member research we have re-designed your AGM pack to make it as easy as possible for you to vote. In order to help us to continue to improve the pack for 2009 we would be grateful if you could let us have your views. For example: How easy to use did you find this year's pack - did the Quick Guide help? Did the messages in the pack make you want to return your form? And, what could we do to make the pack better?
