AGM votes raise more than £43,500 for charity
Members have re-emphasised their support for the Society by returning with overwhelming majorities all four pro-mutual candidates standing in the election of Directors. The full results, announced by Society Chairman, Ian Adam, at the Annual General Meeting on 23 April 2008 at the Britannia Stadium, Stoke-on-Trent, were as follows: 338,677 members returned voting forms.

The annual accounts, the annual business statement, the directors’ report and the auditors’ report for the year ended 31 December 2007 were received.
- PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP were re-appointed as auditors of the Society until the conclusion of the 2009 AGM.
- The directors’ remuneration report was approved.
- The changes to the Society’s rules set out in the document provided to the meeting were approved.
- Each of the Board’s recommended candidates was duly elected/re-elected.
- We are pleased to confirm that as a result of this excellent member turnout, we will be making a donation of £43,650 to our corporate charity, the Alzheimer's Society.
