Having your say

Members are encouraged to become involved in having a say in how the business is run. By joining The Co-operative Membership, you can have your say at your regional members meeting or event, you can vote for other members who have put themselves forward to represent your community on the Area Committee, and you can also put yourself forward to represent members in your local area.

Shaping our Ethical Policy

From time to time members are invited to vote on The Co-operative Group’s Ethical Policy, which dictates the way the Group operates their ethical trading. This is another way members can use their vote and have a say in the running of the business.

Sharing in the profits

If you’re a member of The Co-operative Group, you can earn points on many of our products and services which contribute to a share of the profits paid to you twice a year.^ You can also collect points on a wider range of products offered across The Co-operative family of businesses including food, travel, pharmacy, motor, legal services, funeralcare and online shop.

Contributing to The Co-operative Membership Community Fund

The Co-operative Membership Community Fund is a charity which helps to make a real difference in local communities. Members can support the Community Fund by automatically donating the odd pence left over from each of your share of the profits payments. You can also donate a percentage or your entire share of the profits to the fund.
